Tiffany A/W 14/15

Who else loves jewellery? And I don’t mean likes to wear jewellery, I mean who else loves and appreciates the craft of jewellery. After all just like fashion, jewellery is a whole industry, combining luxury, fashion and sometimes even traces of architecture and sculpture to into it. The craftsmanship of it can be even harder than fashion, you’re dealing with silver, gold, diamonds and pearls.

Sometimes a good piece of jewellery is all you need to make your outfit stand out. Who else remembers one of the first ambassadors of Tiffany, Audrey Hepburn. As much as we all loved her in the long silk dress from Givenchy in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” let’s face it, it wouldn’t look half as good if it weren’t for the pearls and the tiara she worn on that first scene of this legendry movie.

Holly Golightly, the character Audrey Hepburn was playing in the movie said that “Tiffany is the best place in the world where nothing bad can happen” and isn’t that what fashion should do. The idea of getting lost in long allies of the newest pieces of Tiffany’s line gives me goose bombs. And as much as I love the old Hollywood extravagance sometimes simplicity is all you need. Their new design director, Francesca Amfitheatrof knows exactly how to do it. Taking over the role and bring the simple elegance back to Tiffany & Co. When I first saw the newest collection behind the glass display few months ago I was speechless.

The A/W 14’15 collection is the simplest and most elegant in its finest terms. When looking at the collection it seemed it was focused most on the lines. The ‘X’ sign silver bracelets give away a very simple and traditional design for Tiffany, it’s very classic yet modern combination perfect for any occasion. There’s this unspoken rule in fashion that silver and gold should not be mixed but some rules just need to be broken. By taking this risk Francesca Amfitheatrof, got a very elegant rose gold and silver linked up necklace. The shape and form of it gives such luxurious and traditional feel to it. Can you just imagine to opening the blue, Tiffany box and seeing one of their newest designs inside? Wouldn’t that be the perfect gift? No wonder Holly Golightly loved Tiffany’s!
