Lee Paton is a British luxury fashion label based between London and Paris, founded in 2010 by the London based designer. Following on from the launch of “For Elizabeth” for AW15 and “La Dame En Noir” for SS16 the House has now launched its AW16 collection: “The Guest That Never Checked Out”.
The memories of encounters with some starlets from Hollywood’s golden era were the inspiration behind the concept for Paton’s AW16 collection.
Firstly a meeting with Actress Luise Rainer at London’s Savoy Hotel where she told the designer
how she used her Oscars as a doorstop and secondly Mildred Shay, a personal friend of Paton, who lived every day of her 90’s with as much gusto as she did during the glamorous 1930’s. The key idea behind “The Guest That Never Checked Out” is effortless luxury. Simple pieces executed with the finest detail. Think ‘Faye Dunaway photographed lounging by the pool at Chateau Marmont’ meets ‘Phyllis Gordon shopping for bananas with her pet cheetah’.
The collection includes such pieces as monogrammed shearling robes and capes that mimic hotel dressing gowns and towels as if the wearer has just stepped out of the pool. Amohair camel coat with hand-knitted mink interior sits comfortably alongside fuchsia tweed tailoring lined in
chiffon with satin bound seams and embellished hand knitted garments with the same attention to detail as the hand embroidered pieces.
The skills of the atelier’s embroiderers are evident in this collection through detailed silk shading
and intricate beading. Examples include silk thread roses on sleeves nestled amongst glittering gold sequins and an intricate leopard adorning soft knitwear.
Other techniques include glass bugle beading to form leopard spots resembling exotic fur adding a third dimension to the garments.

collection.
