Daniel Sandler Cosmetics

I am definitely feeling the love for Daniel Sandler!  What a genuine man and what an absolute pleasure it was meeting him, and then being treated to a make over by him, with his own fabulous brand of cosmetics, Daniel Sandler Makeup.

I attended the fantastic Amazon UK Christmas Wish List 2014 press event in Victoria House, London, kindly invited by The Ideas Network.

Daniel (and his Managing Director) was there demonstrating his makeup range in the beauty section.  I went to say hello and see what he was up to, and was fortunate enough to be able to interview him whilst he created a make up look on me.

Talented makeup artist Daniel has been in the industry for nearly 30 years, after studying at the London College of Fashion.  As a leading international makeup artist, he has worked with some of the world’s most famous (and beautiful) celebrities, including Naomi Campbell, Rachel Weisz, Kristen Scott Thomas and Kate Moss.  Add to his experience the high profile fashion editorial photographers, the designers’ major fashion shows, red carpet events and being a regular on national TV, and you’ll see why he’s so successful.  Meet him and you’ll know why he’s also so popular with the media and his clients.  He is a real gem.

I asked Daniel how his own cosmetics range came about.  He told me that the type of cosmetics he wanted to work with just didn’t exist, that there was a gap in the market available to him.  He decided it was a perfect opportunity to create his own range of products, specifically fulfilling his needs.

Daniel launched his own range of makeup products in 2003, and there is no doubt that his decision over ten years ago has opened up the door to a whole new world for him. His first products sold in Harrods on Valentines Day in 2004.

Daniel says,  “I was one of the first makeup artists to bring out a self-titled range and I’m immensely proud of the brand.”

Daniel spent over four years developing his multi award-winning and highly innovative brand, drawing from his experience as a professional makeup artist, creating a completely fool proof range of creams, liquids, glosses, serums, stains and tools. A woman’s ‘wardrobe of colour’ with a multi-purpose, hybrid product offering, that ultimately simplified makeup for women of all skin tones, with the addition of skincare benefits.  He created the bronzer to match your skin tone, the ultimate waterproof eyeliner crayon to bring out your eye colour, and his cult Watercolour range is available in the prettiest hues that suit absolutely everyone.

I was lucky enough to experience the brand and Daniel’s work during my own make over.  Daniel used his Eye shadow Quad £28.00, which comes in three colour options - Beyond Sunset, Scandal at Midnight and Sheer Beauty.  shadows, which blend beautifully together and can be used wet or dry on the eye.

I also had the multi award winning Watercolour Fluid Blusher, £15.50 applied, which Daniel has had designed to flatter every skin tone and is available in a range of shades.   These are 100% blendable and water resistant and fans of the Watercolour range include Mary Greenwell, Pixiwoo, Lisa Eldridge, Binky Felstead, Mel C, Susie Amy and Nell McAndrew.

To complete the smoky eye look, Daniel used his waterproof Velvet eyeliner.  These come in 7 shades – 3 classics colours: Black Velvet, Grey Velvet and Brown Velvet and 4 bright shades: Aqua Velvet, Blue Velvet, Green Velvet and Purple Velvet.  And finally it was all topped off with a perfect pout!  Daniel used the Luxury Matte Lipstick [£13.25]  and completed the look with his Luxury Gloss [£14.75].

I have to say it was a real joy to meet Daniel and experience for myself his own cosmetics brand.

In addition to his Knightsbridge based retail counters at both Urban Retreat at Harrods, London and BeautyMART at Harvey Nichols, London, in Autumn 2013 he launched a makeup counter at The Peak Health Club & Spa, on the ninth floor of Jumeirah Carlton Tower, where all of the staff have been personally trained by Daniel.

Daniel Sandler products are also widely available via selected e-tailers including Amazon, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic, ASOS, Cult Beauty  and Urban Outfitters in the USA
