We got to see the Andrew Majtenyi Autumn/Winter 15 collection at the POP PR press day, we enjoy designers whom are very theatrical, artistic and slightly futuristic. Unlike most designers Andrew doesn’t start with a sketch, he gets his inspiration from textures, colours and feel of the fabric.
The new collection which is inspired by the moons of Jupiter especially Europa.
The dozens of icy moons orbiting Jupiter, varying in shape, size and origin are apparent throughout the collection. Gases, mist and icescapes predominate the landscape seen through the release of new satellite images.Silhouettes are cut generously and rounded, subtle 80’s references are found for a more casual and relaxed fit. Metallic wovens’ define the cold and space of Europa, but compensates with spongy insulated fabrics to add warmth and comfort. The colours reflect the luminescence and glow found there.
Complex and beautiful patterns adorn the icy surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa. Each of Jupiter’s moons bears a unique story which mirrors the intricate detailing in each of the pieces. The AW15 range combines futuristic influences with glacial colours for a truly universal collection.
